I’m basically done with the cannibalism stuff, at least for the time being, so I figured I’d put together a list of my recent posts on the subject for easy reference. Many of them are from the period between Christmas and New Year’s when people may not have been reading blogs as regularly as usual and may therefore have missed them. There’s obviously much more that could be said about this very complicated and controversial subject, but I think these posts have covered the basics of it as it relates to Chaco. Here are the posts:
- The C Word
- Cannibal Coprolite Christmas Continues
- What Happened at Cowboy Wash?
- Was There Any Cannibalism during the “Great Drought”?
- Cowboy Wash Is Not an Easy Place to Live
- Sacred Ridge
- Holy Wars in Holy Lands
I’ll have some new posts on other topics soon. Stay tuned.
Hi Teo,
A glance at your graphic showing postings by month, looks like a distribution related to school/no school. This is not criticism. Keep up the scholastics, and we’ll enjoy the postings as they arrive.
As an aside, were you aware of an ‘annular solar eclipse’ in June of 2012, the center of path is south of Chaco?
Thanks for all the fun reading!
Hi John,
Indeed, school is the main thing that gets in the way of posting these days, but I try to make up for it during breaks.
I was not aware of the coming eclipse, but I’m sure the astronomy folks at Chaco were. Should be interesting. I saw a partial solar eclipse when I was in Israel; pretty cool.
A final thought also. Finding evidence of cannibalism at Chaco seems to be a personal blow to some and best left in the closet. Not sure why, but if it’s not pottery or is a subject matter that gets to far off the well traveled path the issue is dropped for not being Chaco PC, the individual is just too meso-centric. Thanks for the Christy Turners and Steve Leksons. Cheers…
I did miss these post earlier. Very interesting.
